QEHS

The QEHS Engineer plays a crucial role in identifying and preventing safety, environmental, health, and quality risks at production sites. His/Her responsibilities include conducting thorough assessments, implementing preventive measures, and promoting knowledge sharing to uphold the highest standards of operational excellence.

Essential Functions

  1. Daily update QEHS Visual Management Board and Safety Cross.
  2. QEHS Audits according to Plan -Daily, Weekly, Monthly, as well as coordination of GEMBA plan and closing of resulting actions.
  3. Daily monitoring and typing logs of the diverse types of waste. (Legal requirement)
  4. Daily walks to review environmental and safety conditions – (Legal requirement)
  5. Management of SDS safety sheets
  6. Onboarding training of QEHS System.
  7. Investigate incidents and accidents to identify their root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize future risks.
  8. Coordination of EHS studies and procedures according to the annual program and current legislation and regulations.
  9. Develop, implement, and assess preventive policies and documentation to reduce risks, ensuring full compliance with organizational standards as well as relevant national, state, and local laws and regulations.
  10. Develop and implement training programs for all staff on EHS practices, fostering a strong safety culture across the organization.
  11. Benchmark all units EHS initiatives and implementing execution when be applicable.
  12. Organize, train and coordinate emergency brigades, mixed commission and committees.
  13. Responsible for monitoring the WebTraining.
  14. Provide support in vaccination campaigns and other health and hygiene campaigns.
  15. Responsible for the implementation of the COVID protocol and periodic examinations
  16. Responsible for personal protective equipment delivery, replacement, purchases
  17. Work with the purchasing and production area to review chemicals used in the plant.
  18. Ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of emergency response plans and procedures.
  19. Ensure that the work of contractors aligns with the safety standards established in the company.
  20. Quality inspection of the purchased finished good products
  21. Monthly revision of external and internal calibration of measurement devices
  22. Participation in continual improvement projects based upon internal audits and departmental issues.
  23. Support to the Quality Manager and CQE in customer complaints be required.
  24. Documentation in the IMS SharePoint
  25. Backup of the CQE when be required
  26. Participate in customer, government, and internal audits as needed.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree.

Experience:

Accident Prevention Plans and Programs

Knowledge of ISO 45000, ISO14000, NOM, STPS, OSHA regulations, and Mexican legislation

Accident Investigation

Safety Records

Providing EHS training programs

Computer Skills:

Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required
